A legislative committee is suddenly considering an amendment to an end of session bill to officially put in statute a complete deregulation of any makeup artistry and hair styling services performed by unlicensed “free-lancers”.

Call and leave word NOW with the following two lawmakers and tell them NO with the following message:

As a licensed professional cosmetologist, I object to any sudden amendment to the omnibus state government finance bill that gives a free pass to anyone working in my industry without the proper education, license, or permit to do so. This includes any so-called “free-lancer” without any guarantee of their abilities that would jeopardize the customer’s health. This will create confusion and irritates me that this is being considered without even a bill hearing on the merits of this. Do not accept “knee jerk” solutions by amendment without knowing all the facts first.
