A Reminder for My Fellow Estheticians
As licensed estheticians, we know how easy it is for clients—and even ourselves—to get caught up in skincare trends. Skincare results don’t require a shelf full of products; real results require consistent, simple habits-that's what makes the difference.
As we head into winter, it’s important to remember what’s easy to overlook. Sunscreen remains non-negotiable, even on cold or cloudy days. Broad-spectrum SPF 30+ should be applied daily to the face and any exposed skin, including the hairline, upper lip, ears, and neck, with reapplication as needed.
Cleansing should be gentle to preserve natural oils, and hydration is essential. Richer moisturizers and serums help maintain a healthy barrier, particularly on cheeks, lips, and hands. Exfoliation remains important during the winter, but is limited to once or twice per week with a gentle product to avoid compromising the skin.
Winter is ideal for professional restorative treatments that make a real impact. This is the time when clients have less sun exposure. It’s a great time for Treatments that target fine lines, hyperpigmentation, or redness. It’s also the perfect time for customized treatments, specialized serums, and masks that will enhance results over time.
Above all, Consistency is key, and an easy-to-follow care Routine of cleansing, hydrating, protecting, and professional treatments delivers sustainable results and reinforces the value of professional guidance. By focusing on these core habits, aestheticians can help clients maintain healthy, protected skin throughout the winter season.
