Please be aware of fraudulent activity targeting licensees
PBA/NCA members located in Texas have received letters from a company titled Professional Certification Service in Sacramento, California. The letter asks the recipient to submit funds for their professional certification renewal to an address in Nashville, Tennessee and references the National Cosmetology Association. The document states that NCA is an industry self regulatory organization providing professional cosmetology certification. THIS IS FRADULANT!
Any notice of renewal regarding your cosmetology license comes directly from the State of Minnesota Board of Cosmetologist Examiners. The executive management team of PBA/NCA has made the following statement and notice of what you should watch out for.
This Alert was issued to PBA-NCA Members in Texas, however, this fraudulant activity may expand to other states.
Cosmetology professionals in should be on alert for a solicitation letter from a company calling itself “Professional Certification Service” regarding payment for so-called “professional certification renewal”. The Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) has issued a Fraud Alert – warning that this solicitation has no official relationship to TDLR or licensing in Texas.
This company is also using the National Cosmetology Association’s (NCA) logo and name without authorization. The NCA has no relationship with this company and in no way endorses their activity.

Remit address: Nashville, TN
Unauthorized use of NCA logo

- Do not respond to the solicitation.
